Ready, Set, Solar! Partnership

Rockbridge Conservation Partners with Local Solar Nonprofit

Rockbridge Conservation is partnering with Solar United Neighbors (SUN) in Rockbridge County on their Ready, Set, Solar! program.  SUN is a vendor-neutral nonprofit with expertise not only in solar energy but in the specific ins and outs of going solar in Virginia.

In August Rockbridge Conservation co-hosted a Solar Happy Hour at Heliotrope Brewery in Lexington to discuss residential solar with Rockbridge area residents. Ben Hoyne from SUN talked to a big crowd about their new Ready, Set, Solar! program. The program provides factual, unbiased information to allow those interested in solar to be able to navigate the process of going solar with a solar contracting company.

Solar United Neighbors is a vendor-neutral nonprofit with expertise not only in solar energy but in the specific ins and outs of going solar in Virginia. The SUN program is an outgrowth of an earlier Solar co-op program which Rockbridge Conservation also co-sponsored in our county.  This difference between the two is that Ready, Set, Solar! is designed as an advisory service for those who are interested in installing solar panels, rather than a co-op purchasing program.

Rockbridge Conservation is thrilled to be partnering with SUN to bring more information about solar power to residents in our area! For details, contact Bob Biersack, our Energy & Climate Committee Chair.
