Rockbridge County Planning Commission Vacancies

Opportunity Alert to thoughtful citizens:

VACANCIES on the County Planning Commission

If you (or someone you know) want to make a real difference in our County’s quality of life and you reside in the Walkers Creek or Buffalo District, please consider applying to become a Rockbridge County Planning Commission (PC) member.

Rockbridge Conservation’s Land Conservation Committee has a primary mission to monitor the local planning process and research relevant information that helps support good decision making by the Commission.  Both the upcoming Comprehensive Plan update and an anticipated overall update to the Land Development Ordinance regulations will be pressing issues for the Planning Commission in the upcoming years.

County Supervisors Jay Lewis and Leslie Ayers are currently seeking thoughtful citizens interested in immediate appointment to the Walkers Creek term expiring on January 28, 2024 and the Buffalo term expiring on May 11, 2026. Commissioners are simply required to stay informed, vote on issues and applications at monthly public meetings (and occasional work sessions), and take the virtual Virginia Certified Planning Commissioners’ Program within one year of appointment. https://web.cvent.com/event/33af9b4e-4525-4c0c-97f8-2fa36ede48d3/summary
